Dr John Levas Bds. (USyd)

Dr John Levas at Moorebank DentalDr John Levas completed his Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree at Sydney University and graduated in 1983.

John enjoys the village atmosphere and strong sense of community in Moorebank and the surrounding suburbs. John has always felt it was like practicing in a country town at Moorebank Dental where everyone knows one another.

Choosing dentistry was always a natural choice for John. It appeals to John’s natural dexterity, ability to communicate and his strong understanding of science. Dentistry provides an opportunity to provide to combine the art of working with his hands and logical thinking skills.

John maintains constant professional development and maintains an accredited Dental Practice. John is competent across all dental procedures and has a special interest in Oral Surgery (removal of impacted wisdom teeth, usually at Liverpool Day Surgery, using a specialist anaesthetist so as patients are “asleep” during these procedures).

Outside of providing gentle, high quality care, John enjoys the outdoors, playing tennis weekly and water sports. John’s four children, family and friends are a huge part of his personal happiness.

John’s easy going nature and outstanding ability, endears him to all his patients.

Dr Irina Nurkic BDS (USyd)

Dr Irina Nurkic received her dental education at Sydney University (graduating with Honours in 2008).

Irina joined the team at Moorebank Dental in 2011 and is a gentle and enthusiastic dentist who is passionate about providing complete dental health. She enjoys working closely with her patients to ensure they improve their oral health as well as their overall health.

Irina loves all areas of dentistry and helping and treating people of all ages in our vibrant surgery. Having two of her own small children at home, Irina is experienced with treating children and taking care of their needs in a gentle and fun way.

Irina maintains her professional development at any possible opportunity in order to enhance her extensive knowledge and remain abreast of the latest dental techniques and technology in the dental field.

Outside of the practice, Irina is kept busy with her little family. She enjoys yoga, reading and travelling.

Dr Angel Halim BDS (USyd)

Dr Angel is a Sydney University graduate. She has been working in the private practice setting since 2010.

Dr Angel's ambition is to provide a service to patients where they will walk out the door happier than when they walked in. Her patient’s well being is my number one priority. She always tries to provide them with the best quality of care. She believes prevention is always better than cure, therefore she likes to be conservative where possible, also at the same time proactive when needed.

Dr Angel loves creating a positive first dentist visit for the little ones. She also finds great joy in converting anxious patients hating the dentist into patients that are excited to see the dentist. She is meticulous when it comes to my restorative, endodontic and prosthodontic clinical work.

Outside of dentistry, She is a mother to two little girls and a cat. Pre kids, She enjoyed the adrenaline rush with bungy jumping, skydiving, canyoning, abseiling and numerous other random physical challenges. She is very fortunate to still be able to fit in a couple of hours/week for exercise. However, a simple lifetime with family and friends is even more so cherished.

Dr Amita Thakkar BDS

Dr. Amita Thakkar completed her Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree in 1987 as well as qualifications from the Australian Dental Council in 1990.

Dr. Amita is truly a people person. She believes in helping her patients achieve a “beautiful smile” through great attention to detail.

Dr. Amita has been in private practice for over 25 years and appreciates that patients have different dental needs and is happy to discuss and explain various treatment options to reach a high-quality customized outcome.

Continued education, professional development, and being up to date in all aspects of dentistry is very important to Dr. Amita. Dr. Amita’s professional interests include preventative, general family, and cosmetic dentistry.

Outside of dentistry Dr. Amita enjoys spending time with her family, gardening, cooking, and traveling.

Dr Hemalatha Mahalingappa

Since graduating in 2012, Dr Hemalatha Mahalingappa has made it her mission to take a holistic approach to dentistry, aiming to help her patients achieve a healthier mouth and a healthier life.

Hemalatha loves that dentistry lets her help protect and improve her patients’ oral health. With a keen eye for detail, she enjoys the dexterity and hands-on precision that the job demands. But above all, she loves seeing patients proud to show off one of their greatest assets – their smile.

Hemalatha has a great zest for life. In her spare time, you can find her chasing adrenaline with outdoor action sports, bushwalking to stay in touch with nature, and travelling to experience new foods and cultures. You can ask her for travel recommendations at your next appointment.

Dr Raychel Tu

Dr Raychel Tu graduated with a Masters in Dental Science at Griffith University and has won multiple awards, most notably the ADA Gold Coast Branch Award. She is experienced in all aspects of general dentistry, and particularly enjoys restorative work, surgical extractions, and orthodontics.

Raychel started dentistry with a passion to help and give back to the community. Having received extensive dental care as a child, Raychel knows first-hand how difficult dentist visits can be. Today, she makes it her mission to provide a calming, comfortable experience for all patients, as she believes everyone deserves to love their smile. And with her kind-hearted, gentle and cheerful nature, Raychel is especially great with little ones and those who experience dental anxiety.

Outside of work, Raychel loves learning new dishes to cook, tinkering with technology and finding great deals on bargain websites.
